Employment Equity
Employment Equity plans promote equity in the workplace, ensuring that all employees receive equal opportunities and that their employers treat them fairly.
Employers must create and carry out an employment equity strategy that outlines the affirmative action strategies they will use to meet these employment equity objectives. This strategy is vital to promoting equal opportunity and fair treatment by eliminating unfair discrimination.
Companies that employ more than 50 employees or have an annual turnover higher than their industry’s threshold must comply with the Employment Equity Act. Employers must create and carry out (1.) an Employment Equity Plan outlining their affirmative strategies (2.) Submit Annual EE Reports to DOL, and (3.) fulfill 10 obligated duties to comply.
Our approach includes:
- Appointing an EE manager.
- Proactive consultation and analysis.
- Allocating resources and establishing the EE plan.
- Implementing and reporting on measures, objectives, and timeframes.
- EE audits and liaising with the DOL.
- Annual EE Report Submissions to DOL.
SDC confidently takes ownership of completing and submitting the EEA2 and EEA4 reports and drafting the Employment Equity Plan.
